I'd like to see the Galactica take on the UNSC Infinity.

I'd love to see the Galactica team up with Space Battleship Yamato. :)

Can the Yamato deploy ten 500 metre energy shielded frigates from its underbelly?

No. Still, she's one hell of a ship with a great crew, though, especially the one from Yamato 2199. That one has shields that easily shrug off nukes. The key here is having them team up, not fight each other. Together, they'd raise hell against the cylons.  I think Adama would welcome Okita's help.

Both shows are great! :)

I'd prefer the UNSC Infinity. That leviathan of a vessel is only surpassed by Covenant Super Carriers and Forerunner Vessels.

I'm not familiar with the Infinity. I'll have to check it out. :)

It's from the HALO games. It's over 5 kilometres in length and near 1 in height, possesses advanced energy shielding, a huge amount of powerful weaponry, a massive complement of military forces, and carries a battlegroup of ten Strident-Class Heavy frigates (each a little over 500 metres in length) within ventral launch bays. The frigates are carried vertically, so they literally drop downwards from the parent vessel. These Frigates also possess energy shielding.

And both the Infinity and the frigates are capable of atmospheric operation.

It sounds impressive. :) It sounds like it could go toe-to-toe with a super star destroyer from Star Wars.
